North Oakland Taekwon Do
For Adults & Children. Taekwon-Do, the Korean martial art of “Foot and Hand Training.” Building confidence through knowledge of self-defense and the tenets of traditional Taekwon-Do (Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, and Indomitable Spirit). North Oakland Taekwon-Do –with instructor Christy Wellens (2nd Dan Black Belt ITF), Master Shawn Humpert (4th Dan Black Belt WT), and Chief Instructor Denise Humpert (3rd Dan Black Belt WT). Promotions (at an extra fee) will occur on-site during scheduled class sessions. Class size is limited to 50 students (15 for Little Dragons) to maintain optimal instructor to student ratio. Uniforms and gear required for testing. No Classes: 12/23 & 12/30. Cost per 9 week session.

  • LITTLE PICASSO: Mom, Dad & Me: Looking for something fun to do with your Little Picasso in your life? This art program allows you to take part of the creative moment in your child’s life. Parents are welcome to sign up too. Over the course of a month we will offer drawing, watercolor and mixed media.
  • ACRYLIC PAINTING: Let your creativity soar in this inspiring hands-on workshop! Designed for beginner to intermediate levels, but all are welcome. Artist and instructor Gabriela Orza will guide you step by step on creating your own piece of art.
  • SEASONAL PAINTING: Spend an evening creating your own piece of art. Instructor Gabriela Orza will guide you, step by step on your creative process. Beginning to intermediate art class, but all are welcome.
  • WATERCOLOR PAINTING: This class covers materials, blending, color mixing, layering, and techniques to enhance paintings. It emphasis the unique qualities of watercolor and it’s application to original projects. These classes include a range of options for both beginners and more advance student artist interested in watercolor art.
  • MASTERS PAINTINGS: This is an art class that we will learn to do a painting after Camille Monet or Van Gogh, guided by artist and teacher Gabriela Orza. We will paint each and every brush stroke, recreate all the beauty and detail surrounding the original masterpiece. Help with the drawings is available. Beginning to intermediate, but all are welcome.

Scuba
  • BEGINNING SCUBA: Classes will meet for 3 weeks indoors and then hold open water dives June– October 2025. Must complete both Phase 1 & 2.
  • PHASE 1: CONFINED CLASS/POOL TRAINING: Diving offers endless opportunities for exploration, discovery, education and new experiences. You can go as far as your passion and enthusiasm take you. Your learning experiences will come alive with personalized instruction that puts your skills to use in reality-based training scenarios. Estimated Time: 9 hours of classroom and 9 hours of pool. We meet for 3 weeks; 2 nights per week or for 3 Saturdays. We Supply: Regulator set, Buoyancy Compensator, Tank, Weight Belt, and Weights. You Supply: Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Wetsuit Boots (5mm or 7mm), (MUST BE SCUBA QUALITY) Bathing Suit, and Towel.
  • PHASE 2: OPEN WATER CHECKOUTS: After completion of your beginning scuba course, you have to complete a minimum of 4 training dives at one of our local lakes or quarries. Here you will perform all your newly acquired skills under the supervision of an instructor. After demonstrating your proficiency, you will be a Certified Open Water Diver. This test is a 2-day event. You MUST be present for both days. Open Water Test: $140 & Equipment Rental $75. Estimated Time: 4– 5 hours per day (based on a group of 6) We Supply: Rental of Regulator Set, Buoyancy Compensator, Wetsuit, Hood, Gloves, Tanks, Air Fills, and Weight system. You Supply: Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Wetsuit boots, Bathing suit, and Towel.

Stained Glass with Bryce Glass Art Studio
  • The following Stained Glass offerings are taught by Bryce Glass Art Studio in Oxford. Exact address will be included on the registration receipt. Instructor Margie Bryce with Bryce Glass Art.
  • BEGINNER STAINED GLASS: earn the fundamentals of stained glass in this hands-on beginner series. Working from pattern selection through the finished piece, you'll learn how to cut and grind glass, apply copper foil, solder, and finish your project using professional tools and techniques. Choose from a selection of beginner-friendly projects, including a sunrise, tulip, or geometric design.
  • MAKE & TAKE STAINED GLASS WORKSHOPS: Create a beautiful stained glass project in a single evening. You’ll get experience with a bit of cutting and then you can focus on learning to grind, assemble, foil, solder, and finish the process while completing a project you'll be proud to take home. Ending time is estimated, based on speed of participants.
  • 3D STAINED GLASS CREATIONS: Bring stained glass to life with a three-dimensional project that adds color and dimension to your home décor. These beginner-friendly workshops will teach you some cutting and grinding and assembly to allow you to complete a unique seasonal project in a single class.
